Gabbie here, checking in with a few updates for the community, and answers to some of the questions we received last week. We are hoping to present more of these question and answer posts in the future, so stay tuned for more.<br />
<br />
For starters, we have an <b>important announcement</b> about a change coming to our Collection Scores. In anticipation of Tier 7 being released in the coming days, today we will be adjusting the Collection Score aspect of most Tiers to help distinguish Uncommon and Rare Cards with scoring that better reflects their value.<br />
<br />
While this will result in a Collection Score change for most collectors, please be advised that the adjustment would be near proportional for the average collector. In other words, while you may see a change in your score, this is a change to all collectors' scores and the difference in score value should be proportional across all collectors. <br />
<br />
I also wanted to acknowledge some issues that have been reported by the community that we are aware of, actively investigating, and working to fix:<br />
<br />
- Purchases made without receiving your currency<br />
- Completed trades that don’t seem to actually swap your cards<br />
- Loading spinners on the Magical Gift after new products are released<br />
- Issues with “watch to earn” videos <br />
- Unclaimed packs that can’t be opened <br />
<br />
While we work on resolving those issues, please continue to contact our support team(<b> settings > support</b>) if you encounter any problems, so that we can work one on one with you to get you a solution.<br />
<br />
Now we have a few questions from the community that we wanted to try to answer. These questions were posted in last week’s update post about version 10.5.0.<br />
<br />
🔹<b>COHEED707</b>: “Will there be First Printings? What about higher levels of rarity?”<br />
<br />
Great question! While we don’t have any first printings or higher levels of rarity planned for the immediate future, this is something the team is still discussing and thinking about the best way to approach. We still feel like we are early in the life of the app and we’ve seen a really healthy community evolving, so we want to be very thoughtful with how and when we introduce mechanics like these. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>DENISESMITH</b>: “Is it possible to let collectors know ahead of time for the El Capitan events?”<br />
<br />
We always want to give as much notice about events like this, and will always try to in the future. The first El Capitan screening came up as a really wonderful, but sudden opportunity for us, and we had to act very quickly to roll it out. We know that was not enough notice for most users, but in general we will do our best to plan and announce events like this with much more time. We also recommend checking El Capitan’s website and social media for information about upcoming showings throughout the year, as we will be partnering with them again. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>MAMACANDEY</b>: “The sets that have come out since I have been playing are all from a very small selection of movies. Will you be expanding the selection?”<br />
<br />
Absolutely! We have lot of content from Disney’s extensive history that we can’t wait to share. While we were preparing to launch the app, we surveyed a lot of potential users and Disney fans to find out what content might be the most popular. We’ve used these survey results, along with community feedback and current events in the world of Disney to curate our content for the last few months. That being said, we will continue to diversify and hopefully surprise the community with some new stuff very soon. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>RHILOU</b> - “Is there anywhere we can suggest minor improvements? For example I’d love it if I could see which cards are locked in my collection without clicking through them all."<br />
<br />
First of all, we love feedback and suggestions from the community - it really helps us prioritize upcoming improvements and content. I am working on finding a better solution for collecting that feedback but, until then, please continue to post your suggestions in comments to posts like this one. As for seeing your locked cards in one place: head to your collection and look for the “My Cards” drop down menu near the top. In that menu there is an option for “locked cards” which will apply a filter to only display those. Let us know any other improvements or features we could add to make Disney Collect better!<br />

🔹<b>DARKWINGDUCKALICIOUS</b>: “When do we get more base cards!?!”<br />
<br />
We do have another great, full, base set in the works. We’ll announce the exact timing for release when we get a little closer, but you should expect to see it by the (Northern Hemisphere) Summer. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>BGRIFFIN445</b>: “Can you publish how the odds work. I can purchase 100k of some packs that are 1:10 and get nothing but can get a 1:25 sometimes with just 10K. How does this work?”<br />
<br />
The best example I’ve seen to explain how the odds work is that each pack opening is like flipping a coin or rolling dice. 1:10 does not mean that there is a special card guaranteed in every 10 packs, rather, that each time you open a pack, you have a 1 in 10 chance of getting a special card. Our engineers have worked hard to ensure that these odds are accurate when we look at all pack openings across all users, and the odds mechanics are re-verified regularly. That being said, even us team members who collect know how disappointing it can be to open lots of packs and not get the collectibles we are hoping for. With this in mind, we are brainstorming ways to make the odds experience feel better, while still remaining fair and accurate. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>DISNEYOBSESSED945</b>: “I think it would be great to have a “claim all” button as well in the workshop when the cards are ready for the choice to either collect all in one hit or individually as the user wishes”<br />
<br />
I think this is a great idea and something I’ll add to the list of potential improvements we can make, thanks!<br />
<br />
🔹<b>FOAMYMAN5</b>: “ Have the bans from last Monday been taken off the database?”<br />
<br />
I know how upsetting it was to see that message, and for that I am so sorry! The good news is that it was just a message that was sent erroneously to more accounts than it should have, and it did not actually add a strike to those collectors’ accounts. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>YENSIDEVOLI5</b>: How do you do a “force quit’?<br />
<br />
This is an important trouble shooting step we advise you do if you notice that your collection appears incorrect, especially after having completed a trade or acquired new cards. The method to “force quit” varies by phone and operating system, so I highly recommend looking up the steps for your specific device. <br />
<br />
On Apple devices, you need to access the “App Switcher” screen (by swiping upwards from the very bottom of your screen on newer devices, or double pressing the home button on older ones.) From the App Switcher, you locate the app you want to quit, and swipe upwards on it, which removes it from this screen and forces it to close. Android devices also have an “App Switcher” screen, and it can be accessed via the multi-tasking button (or other actions, depending on your device.) From your recent app switcher page, you will locate the app and swipe it off the screen to close it. No matter what device you’re on, after a successful force quit, the next time you open the app it should launch from the main loading screen. <br />
<br />
🔹<b>From Multiple Collectors</b>: “Will you be offering any Disney Theme Parks content?”<br />
<br />
I’ll start by saying that the team here are all HUGE Disney Parks fans and passionate about adding parks content. This is a project and partnership we are still working on, so we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up yet. Just know that it is a high priority for us and we hope we can make it happen in the future. <br />
